The role of the Occupational Medicine Specialist is to provide an independent and objective assessment of the person referred.
There are a number of reasons why a person may be referred for an assessment by an Occupational Medicine Specialist.
Commonly the referrer wants independent advice on the diagnosis, management, rehabilitation and fitness for work. An assessment may also be sought to investigate whether or not a condition has been caused by work.
